Experience working with community, architectural, engineering.
I have extensive experience of collaborating and consulting with residents, local councils, governments, design teams, engineers and architects, at all phases of design and construction. In our team, we are highly aware of the collaborative nature of public art projects and always look for the best and most productive way to combine our artistic efforts with the wider projects and larger teams within which we will be working.
I undertake exhaustive research into the area in question; its history, its peoples, and their needs and desires. I work to immerse myself in the community. Moreover, we feel that a public artwork must possess great artistic, conceptual and material quality, but must also form part of the community and its environment. It must be loved.
I am currently in the primary phases of realizing an artwork in Seattle, USA. Here I will be working in collaboration with other artistic teams and with the extremely close-knit minority communities represented by the Centre. As such, I am already working closely with the team of architects who will be renovating the Centre, so as to create a plan for interacting with the community and ensuring that we fill the sculpture with their feelings, thoughts and memories.
And last month, with our artwork "The Life Protector", within the design team, we have been awarded the "Team Award Design Excellence Awards Edgemont Commons", in Vancouver.
