Cindy Shih is a visual artist who lives and works in San Francisco. Her work starts with a narrative, usually starting with writing, which evolves to imagery that is strongly rooted in forgotten traditions and techniques, including fresco, Chinese landscape painting, and realism.
In 2012, Cindy gave up her career in Tech to pursue Art full-time. In 2014, her mixed media piece received “Best of Show” at the annual MFA/BFA show at the deYoung Museum. She is represented by Abend Gallery in Denver, and has shown works in juried and invitational shows at the Taiwanese Ministry of Culture, Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles, San Francisco Art Commission Galleries, Arc Gallery, Sanchez Art Center, and Berkeley Art Center. She has recently spoken on panels and written articles for Citizens Rise!, Northern California Women's Caucus, and Taiwan Academy of Los Angeles. In 2016, she was named as one of the "10 Asian American Female Artists You Should Know" on Buzzfeed.com
