Emma (You) Zhang is a graphic designer who lives and works in San Francisco, where she is an experience designer at Adobe. Emma has Masters of Fine Art degrees in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art and Indiana University’s Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts. Emma won the American Graphic Design Award 2016 for Vivid Verse Project by Graphic Design USA. She contributed to the widely used textbook Imaginary Thinking and Creative Visualization as an associate author. Emma’s work was recently selected to enhance Adobe’s headquarters in San Jose, and the London and San Francisco offices.
Henry Becker is a graphic designer and design educator and is based in Salt Lake City, where he is a design professor at the University of Utah. Henry served as a Sniper Team Leader in the United States Army, and attained the rank of Sergeant before attending the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he received his Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2016. Henry has won awards from GD USA and Print Magazine.
Senator Scott Wiener and Joseph Abbati, Curator, invite you to apply to participate in an art exhibit at the office of the Senator in the State of California Building, San Francisco. We are looking to showcase San Francisco Bay Area artists who identify themselves as part of the Asian diaspora for "East on West," our next exhibit opening February 22, 2109. The artwork displayed at "East on West" will reflect how artists of Asian origin from the Far East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, or the Pacific Islands contribute to enrich the arts and cultural diversity on the West coast. We can accommodate small to large artwork including painting, photography, sculpture, video, drawing, digital, and mixed media. All artwork must be ready to hang with the appropriate hardware (hooks and/or wire) and delivered to the office between February 11-15, 2019.
