- Jo Sherwood has spent decades capturing remote and isolated cultures through her art, before they succumb to globalization. Her work holds a harmony and stasis that lends emotional depth to all of her subjects, and offers a glimpse into their rituals and way of life. Although she was trained in the classical oil techniques of the Masters, she prefers to render modern day traditionalism through her documentation of remote cultures.

Please join artist/cultural documentarian Jo Sherwood as she exhibits 20 oil paintings that depict the Miao people of southwest China. Sherwood has traveled all over the world to paint isolated cultures that are on the verge of extinction due to globalization.
