I am a visual artist and cultural anthropologist of Japanese descent. My work is interdisciplinary combining both visual art and ethnographic research. I have completed three interdisciplinary projects which have been shown at Harvard University, University of Virginia, Meridian Gallery, Monterey Art Peninsula Art Gallery, and UC Berkeley. My artwork has received awards from the Wing Luke Museum, Harvard University, Saint John's University and the Ministry of Culture of Chile. My project "Geographies of the Imagination" will be conducted as Artist in Residence at the Center of Art and Public Life at the California College of Arts during the 2007-8 academic year.
