- 旅美书画篆刻家，专栏作家。作品曾入选全国美展、书法展、欧洲中国艺术展和美国国际艺术展等大展，先后在中国大陆、港澳台举办有个展和众多的联展，并在美国的纽约、费城、波士顿、三藩市、檀香山、洛杉矶等著名城市举办个人巡回展览, 作品遍及世界各地。主要代表作有：《美利坚组画》百呎長卷、《古典-靜观》和《新书法》等系列作品。I was born in Canton, China. I've been painting since I was a young child. My Chinese calligraphy, brush paintings and seal carvings are mostly self taught. My favorite subject is landscape painting using traditional Chinese brush and ink on rice paper. I enjoy exercise the technique of washing painting with traditional Chinese brush strokes. Playing with negative and positive spaces are the most daily activities of my mind and strength.
In the year of 2000 I was invited to the U.S. to have my first painting Solo in New York. After the exhibition I decided to stay in the U.S. and I moved to San Francisco. My art style has been changed since then. I use Chinese classical painting to paint American scenery. This is the first time anything like this has been done. I travelled around the U.S. and seeking the right venues to paint. I want Americans to admire the beauty of their country and to gain an appreciation for Chinese art. It took me five years to complete a 100-foot-long, roll-up series, The America Landscape, which contains nearly 100 individual paintings of cities from all 50 states.
I've also invented a "New Calligraphy Series" combining Chinese Brush Paintings, calligraphy, Chinese seal carvings and handmade paper collage into a new form of artwork. This mixed media style of work is a breakthrough of traditional Chinese art. Just looking for and finding things to use in the process is like a wonderful scavenger hunt. There is a feel to collage: papers of different weights, surface qualities and textures. Map, seal stamps, handmade paper offer their own delights. This series allowed me to challenge the traditional technique of Chinese paintings & calligraphy and renovate the vision of Chinese art.

城 市 山 水 画 VENICE LANDSCAPE (13 X18 ' )

时代画廊、《美国画刊》、《亚洲人周报》于2007年3月2 -- 4日在旧金山中国城的时代画廊联合举办《 @ 西 方 》赵文青城市山水画特展。赵文青表示，这些作品是他旅美后对东方遇上西方文化与艺术的思考，是对中国水墨画生根于西方的探索，也是用中国水墨画表现西方景物(城市山水)的实验。
用中国水墨的形式去表现美国、欧洲的西方山水，不仅是自然山水，更主要还是城市山水，这是赵文青目前绘画的新亮点。他说，笔墨当随时代，转型中的中国画面临各种各样的挑战，而用传统笔墨、传统语言去表现今天的城市面貌，一直以来也是中国画家努力的课题。

鼠 年 画 鼠 SQUIRREL ( 20X20 ' )

余一向喜画松鼠，因其精灵活拔、溫文可愛也。今是鼠岁，又画了不少松鼠，可谓适时矣。今拾一巳裝裱好的《松鼠图》旧作与大家分赏，顺祝鼠年大吉、万亊如意。
此作乃“新文人画”小品，它的特点是将“书、画、印”重新组合，把平时落款的文字扩至画外，来突显作品的张力，又彰显出书画中以黑当白或以白当黑之虚虚实实的哲理，以求赏心悅目之快感。书法释文：(右)红了果子，(左)岁在壬午冬月于旧金山 文青

《新书法》系列作品(如图)， 是赵文青游学美国后在书法领域的又一新亮点。他不断地吸收新文人书的元素，把中国书法的特质直接融化在画面里，甚至大胆地将汉字作为主角、作为自己创作的一种符号突显在作品中，是包括了绘画、篆刻、设计、装裱等艺术的综合表现。其独具创意的视觉效果，可谓对中西文化艺术的全新解读，把通俗变成新贵，将传统归于时尚。
