Yerin Kim was born in South Korea,and currently living and working inSan Francisco. Kim has received BFA in Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore 2012 in Fine Art and Ceramics at. MFA in California College of Arts, San Francisco 2015 in Fine Art. Yerin Kim's interests focuses on the contrast between individual and group, solitude and dependency through humor and audience participatory installation. Yerin Kim is also one of the founder of Baltimore Nomad Gallery and director through 2011 to 2013, winner of Second Place Award In Painting Category, American Art Award 2009, juried emerging artist of (e)MERGE DC art fair 2012 Washington DC, mentioned for honor student of 2014 CCA MFA program, and nominee of Barclay Simpson award 2015.
Senator Scott Wiener and Joseph Abbati, Curator, invite you to apply to participate in an art exhibit at the office of the Senator in the State of California Building, San Francisco. We are looking to showcase San Francisco Bay Area artists who identify themselves as part of the Asian diaspora for "East on West," our next exhibit opening February 22, 2109. The artwork displayed at "East on West" will reflect how artists of Asian origin from the Far East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, or the Pacific Islands contribute to enrich the arts and cultural diversity on the West coast. We can accommodate small to large artwork including painting, photography, sculpture, video, drawing, digital, and mixed media. All artwork must be ready to hang with the appropriate hardware (hooks and/or wire) and delivered to the office between February 11-15, 2019.
