The Tulsa Artist Fellowship (TAF) is a program established by the George Kaiser Family Foundation to enhance the local art scene by retaining and recruiting artists to Tulsa. Hoping...Not on the Menu 2 is beginning to cook

we're talking of a photo exhibit again with Corky Lee and I for 2016.

We're hoping Ryan Lee Wong of New York will be the guest curator for this exhibit. Hoping Judy Yung to be writing the blurb.

In the meantime CCC will be fundraising for this milestone exhibit.  This is a follow up to our exhibit in 1981.  We're hoping to do a publication too.

So we will stay healthy and keep our knees in shape for the two year wait.  Hoping.

《十二梦》

柳娘醒的时候已经接近卯时了,透过别户人家薄薄的晨炊望向尚未日出的东方,沉晦的天光被扫上了一层乳样的白,仿佛有人蒙了一张糯米纸在窗上。她怔忡地在床榻上坐了一会儿,极力想沉回那个与他有关的梦境,然而大半情节已经如点入水中的墨迹一般消散了,剩下几帧零星的画面也有随时一扭身便逃过追索的可能。柳娘几不可闻地叹了一声,随即起身披衣,步向中堂。软而韧的鞋底交错着触地,不带一丁点儿声响;长衣是浅淡的青底加上手绣的鹅黄暗纹,配起来就像堤畔初抽新枝的柳;腰间环佩和右手腕的镯子相映,晃出一片温润的玉色的光。柳娘的手指葱管似的,晶贝般的指甲上不施蔻丹,她在古朴的红木桌前站定,用这么一双手,拈了三炷香点上,恭谨地插在灵位前的香炉里,又深深地鞠了一躬。三缕轻烟绞缠着上升,渗出窗格,直至被揉进了炊烟里再也不见,柳娘这才顿了顿足,掖了掖外袍,感到这宅子纵是浸了三月春花的香也不减寒风透骨的凉。 

终是梦见了本以为不会再入梦的人。17岁过门的柳娘如今三十有余了,离夫君下葬那日,都已经过去近七个年头了。

《颜如玉》

一道长长的云几乎横贯南北,云尾倦倦地一扫,就像笔力不济的一撇,可憎地留了白。断云之下,便是傅家的宅子。 

今天是傅家二公子傅临春娶亲的大好日子,却只有门前寥落的爆竹屑如同斑斑血迹嘲笑着日渐衰败的家境。傅家原本家底不薄,可惜傅临春年幼的时候父母便失足山崖,十余年来只赖年长他七岁的大哥经商持家。前年大哥不幸急病,切切授了傅临春倒卖药材的路子,便也咽了气。傅临春却是个耍笔杆的文人,宁可苦心读书,先谋功名再言其他。于是傅家只剩傅临春一脉香火那日起,便死去了,只等眼睁睁地被蚕食成一副骨架,迟早的事。 

刚过门的妻子唤作尹如絮,眼神木木的,举止也拘谨,简直似个偶人。许多年后,坊间流言说当年傅临春曾有个来历不明的原配,是他花银子买来传宗接代的,并无感情。 …

The making of Hidden Dragon

Deep Roots and New Shoots 2 is the second party of a previous exhibit at the National Japanese American Historical Society gallery.  In this exhibit, we were supposed to show our latest artwork.  Me and my big mouth told them I was going to paint a special painting for this exhibit.
