A Chinese Culture Foundation of San Francisco Program 舊金山中華文化基金会項目
Back in 1981 Corky Lee and I had a photo exhibit at the Chinese Culture Center. The theme was about Chinatowns of New York and San Francisco. We're trying to see if we can do a follow up exhibit 33 years years later.
Today we are still photographing the Chinese community. We would like to show more recent images, where we're at since 1981 and where we are going with our photography.
I have a ton of images that never seen the light of day which I would really like to feature in this exhibit. Because we shot in black and white and did our own processing, many images were not printed. I recently discovered how to scan my negatives and processing the pictures in photoshop. Now if I can get a little more time, I would like to digitize a lot of classics I've got hidden in my negative files.
My lifework will be my contribution to our history.
I would like to also show where we're at with digital photography. This includes images shot with the iphone.
