2018 BAYVIEW ARTIST REGISTRY
Artists and artist teams residing in the United States are invited to submit qualifications for inclusion in the 2018 Bayview Artist Registry for upcoming public art opportunities in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. Artists with a meaningful connection to the Bayview - whether they currently reside, have resided in the Bayview, or have another significant connection to the Bayview - are encouraged to apply.
Applications are available through SlideRoom, an online application system for calls for entry. Artwork budgets range up to $1,000,000.
APPLICATION DEADLINES
For opportunities at the Southeast Health Center: Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 11:59 p.m.Pacific Daylight /Standard Time.
For opportunities at the new Southeast Community Center at 1550 Evans, the current Southeast Community Facility at 1800 Oakdale, and the Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plant: Wednesday May 9, 2018, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight /Standard Time.

The San Francisco Arts Commission invites artists and artist teams residing in the United States to submit qualifications for the 49 South Van Ness Entry Plaza and Prefunction Gallery Wall public art projects.
49 South Van Ness Avenue is being developed by the City as a permit center and office building to be occupied by several City departments including Building Inspection, Planning and Public Works.
The new City building will be an 18-story tower on 11th Street between Market and Mission Streets. There is a private project which is being developed concurrently next to the new City building. That will be a 39-story mixed-use residential and retail development at the corner of Mission Street and South Van Ness Avenue. The development site will feature a publicly accessible concourse separating the residential and retail components from the City office development and will provide pedestrian connectivity midway through the site from South Van Ness Avenue to 11th Street.
PROJECT BUDGET
The total budget for artwork for the exterior Entry Plaza is $750,000, inclusive of all artist's fees, as well as associated expenses for design, fabrication, insurance, transportation and installation.
The total budget for artwork for the interior Prefunction Gallery Wall is $250,000, inclusive of all artist's fees, as well as associated expenses for design, fabrication, insurance, transportation and installation.

BLOOMBERG PUBLIC ART CHALLENGE
The Bloomberg Public Art Challenge has been announced. If arts organizations, individual artists or other community members would like to partner with the City on a competitive proposal that meets the criteria for this grant program, please contact Director of Public & Private Partnerships, Rachelle Axel at rachelle.axel@sfgov.org no later than close of business, Thursday, March 8, 2018. The Arts Commission will prepare the application (due April 19, 2018) on behalf of the Mayor's Office.
Please email a paragraph that addresses how the proposed project has a positive impact on the City; enhances San Francisco's urban identity; has a commitment to evaluate outcomes; leverages additional sources of support; strengthens local economies; demonstrates evidence of technical feasibility (staff, fabricators, engineers, regulatory approvals, etc.); has strong audience engagement; and celebrates creativity.
