Cindy Jian is an artist and designer who enjoys paintings, photography, and art installation. Everything she creates comes from studying people and how to incorporate more delight into their everyday interactions. She seeks to create design-art objects, which are often a catalyst for conversation.
Cindy is a graduate from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she studied Environmental Design (BFA) and Social Design (MA). Prior to studying design in college, she spent many afternoons oil painting at Art Academia, and a semester printmaking at the Oxbow School.

Senator Scott Wiener and Joseph Abbati, Curator, invite you to apply to participate in an art exhibit at the office of the Senator in the State of California Building, San Francisco. We are looking to showcase San Francisco Bay Area artists who identify themselves as part of the Asian diaspora for "East on West," our next exhibit opening February 22, 2109. The artwork displayed at "East on West" will reflect how artists of Asian origin from the Far East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, or the Pacific Islands contribute to enrich the arts and cultural diversity on the West coast. We can accommodate small to large artwork including painting, photography, sculpture, video, drawing, digital, and mixed media. All artwork must be ready to hang with the appropriate hardware (hooks and/or wire) and delivered to the office between February 11-15, 2019.
Call for submissions: January 4th- February 1, 2019
